Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter
1.1. This promotional competition is organised by SMAK ON (PTY) LTD, trading as Smak Coffee Co. ("the Promoter").
1.2. By participating, entrants agree to these terms and conditions, subject to applicable South African law.
2. Competition Period
2.1. The competition opens on 1 November 2026 at 00:00 SAST and closes on 28 February 2027 at 23:59 SAST.
2.2. Only qualifying transactions completed during this period will be considered.
3. Eligibility
3.1. The competition is open to natural persons aged 18 years or older who ordinarily reside in South Africa.
3.2. Directors, employees, their immediate family members and anyone directly involved in administering the competition are excluded from entering.
3.3. Entrants must provide accurate contact information to enable verification and notification.
4. How to Enter
4.1. Customers who spend more than R800 (including VAT but excluding delivery charges), after any applicable discounts, in a single transaction on eligible Smak Coffee Co. products during the competition period will receive one entry into the draw.
4.2. Qualifying purchases may be made through:
4.2.1 The official Smak Coffee Co. online store at www.smakcoffeeco.com.
4.2.2 The official Smak Coffee Co. stand at the Cape Town Coffee Show at Newlands Cricket Ground on 21 and 22 November 2026.
4.3. Each qualifying transaction earns one entry, regardless of the total transaction value above R800.
4.4. Customers may receive additional entries through separate qualifying transactions.
4.5. Online entries will be recorded using qualifying order information. Cape Town Coffee Show customers must provide their name and contact details when making a qualifying purchase.
4.6. Orders cancelled or fully refunded before the draw will not qualify. Orders reduced below R800 through partial refunds or adjustments will also cease to qualify.
4.7. Products will be sold at their ordinary advertised prices. No additional competition entry fee will be charged.
5. The Prize
5.1. One winner will receive one new Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica SX 1 Group home espresso machine.
5.2. The prize includes the manufacturer's standard supplied accessories but excludes any additional grinder, coffee, accessories or installation unless expressly stated.
5.3. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
5.4. The Promoter will arrange delivery of the prize to a valid address within South Africa at no additional charge to the winner.
5.5. The prize is subject to the applicable manufacturer's warranty and the winner's statutory consumer rights.
6. Winner Selection
6.1. One winner will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received during the competition period.
6.2. The draw will take place on 1 March 2027.
6.3. The draw will be overseen and certified by an independent person with the professional qualifications required by Regulation 11 of the Consumer Protection Act Regulations.
6.4. The winner will be contacted using the details provided with their qualifying entry by no later than 5 March 2027.
6.5. The Promoter may reasonably verify the winner's identity, eligibility and qualifying transaction before arranging delivery.
6.6. If the selected entrant is ineligible or cannot be contacted after reasonable, documented attempts over a period of 48 hours, an alternate winner may be selected through the same independently overseen process, subject to applicable law.
6.7. The Promoter will arrange delivery of the prize to the winner's nominated South African address, with delivery expected within 3–7 working days after verification of the winner's eligibility and confirmation of delivery details, subject to courier availability and circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control.
7. Winner Announcement
7.1. The winner will be notified directly by Smak Coffee Co. via email or telephone.
7.2. A competition result announcement will be published on Smak Coffee Co.'s official social media channels by 8 March 2027. The winner's name, photograph or other identifying information will only be disclosed with their consent.
8. Personal Information
8.1. Personal information collected for this competition will be processed for entry administration, eligibility verification, winner selection, prize fulfilment and applicable record keeping obligations.
8.2. Information will be handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Promoter's privacy policy.
8.3. Entry into the competition does not automatically constitute consent to receive marketing communications. Any such consent will be requested separately.
9. General Conditions
9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent entries or manipulation of the competition.
9.2. The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the competition where reasonably necessary due to circumstances beyond its control, subject to applicable law and the rights of entrants.
9.3. Any material changes will be communicated through Smak Coffee Co.'s official website and social media channels.
9.4. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
9.5. The competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta.
9.6. These terms and conditions will be available free of charge at www.smakcoffeeco.com throughout the promotional period and upon request by emailing hello@smakcoffeeco.com.
10. Governing Law
10.1. This competition is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and its applicable regulations.
